Academic Pathways and Partnerships
The School is continually forging positive academic partnerships with local, national and international universities to further enhance our curriculum. Outlined below are the key academic partnerships that enhance the school curriculum and from which our students benefit.
Students gaining good results at IB level can benefit from our relationship with LUISS University in Rome, perhaps by applying for a bursary. There is the possibility of less stringent entry levels should it be necessary. Finally Southlands benefits from visits from the academic staff at LUISS.
The school is a recognised center for the pre-IB International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE). We are a recognised examination centre for Edexcel, the largest examination board of its kind in England.
Southlands is one of the first Schools in Rome to establish a close working partnership with the NABA team. Specialising in areas of Fashion, Set Design, Graphic Design, Media Design and Creative Technologies, students benefit from experts in their field guest lecturing and running workshops here at Southlands.
Our relationship with John Cabot University in Rome allows us to use their online library. This augments the excellent online resources that we have in our own library. Our students visit John Cabot University and we welcome their speakers.
As members of the AIBWSI the school is active in shaping the landscape of the IB Diploma recognition in Italy and is fully committed to improving the number of courses recognised by the Italian Ministry of Education.
