One of the many reasons why we offer the IB at Southlands British International School is the programme's unique ability to develop qualities that go far beyond academic achievement.
To understand more about this, Year 12 Italian B students have been exploring the ten character attributes that come together to form the IB Learner Profile. The IBO believe these attributes, and others like them, can help individuals and groups become responsible members of local, national and global communities. One of the main aims of the Learner Profile is to develop skills and attributes that support lifelong learning. Most importantly, students leave school with a good understanding of the realities of a globalised society, of our individual responsibilities towards the planet, of the need to be open to people and ideas from different cultures and perspectives. Ludovica, as part of her Italian B HL course, has created her learner profile with her own personality and creativity. A very good start to studies at IB!
