At Southlands British International School, the health and wellbeing of our students is our top priority. To support this the food that we provide is carefully planned to be nutritionally balanced. We have our own, onsite kitchen that prepares meals daily. Where families have specific dietary requirements, they are invited to discuss these with one of the school nurses who will liaise with the kitchen team.
We believe that mealtimes play an important role in the all-round education of our students. Teachers supervise students during meal times, and reinforce good table manners and healthy eating habits, including eating fruit and vegetables.
A mid morning snack is provided for all students, with options of fruit, bread, biscuits and milk, fruit tea or juice.
Local company Todde Bus provide a transport service offering different bus routes in the area surrounding the school. Families can choose from a door to door, or pick up point service, with morning, afternoon, or both options available. If you would like further details about the school transport service and the routes available, please contact Todde Bus at firstname.lastname@example.org directly and they will be happy to help.
At Southlands, we are lucky enough to have a first-aid centre to take care of all our students. The centre is led by our two dedicated school nurses who have over 30 years experience in the nursing profession, and one of whom is onsite every day.
As well as extracurricular activities, we offer an extended hours service for parents of students in our primary school, starting at 8 am before school and extending to 5 pm after school. This service is dependent upon sufficient interest and is not possible when we are operating in social bubbles.
